Vi vill vara en kyrka där människor möts, i livet – precis som det är. En nära, öppen och inbjudande kyrka som människor känner glädje över att tillhöra, och där alla kan bidra.

Skellefteå tror på framtiden. Staden växer, bostäder, skolor och förskolor byggs och näringslivet satsar. Staden omringas av byar och samhällen med livskraft, närhet och samverkan. Här finns förutsättningarna att leva tryggt och samtidigt utforska nya drömmar.

Mitt i allt detta står Svenska kyrkan. Vi har kyrkor och församlingar både i centralorten och i kringliggande orter i kommunen (Byske-Fällfors församling, Kågedalens församling, Jörn-Bolidens församling, Skellefteå landsförsamling och Skellefteå Sankt Olovs församling). Skellefteå believes in the future. The city is growing, housing, schools and preschools are being built and the business community is investing in the future. The city is surrounded by villages and communities with a sense of vitality, proximity and collaboration. Here are the conditions to live safely and at the same time explore new dreams.

In the middle of all this is The Church of Sweden. We have churches and parishes both in the central town and in surrounding towns in the municipality. We share the gospel in the presence, with openness and hope, aware that life consists of bright and dark days, and that both joy and sorrow is often when we share it with others. We believe in a God who is present in our lives and who creates, liberates and gives life.

The Christian faith has for a long time characterized Skellefteå and actively contributes to the municipality's work for humanity, faith in the future and a sustainable future. We want to continue and strengthen that work.
