Do you dream of sailing out into the real archipelago and anchoring up for the night in a natural harbour? Our knowledgeable skippers welcome you on board their boats and show you under safe hands to the gems of the Stockholm archipelago!

Bring family or friends with you, glide through the islands with the help of the wind and let yourself be cradled to sleep aboard after a day full of experiences.

We meet at the port at 9 am. After packing your bags on board your will get acquainted with the boat and your skipper. We will have a safety briefing, and then it´s time to head out on the water and pull up the sails. Together we make a plan for how to use the day — a quiet and safe sailing to get to know a new environment, or full speed to test the boundaries. No matter what, your skipper will ensure that you will be in safe hands and get the guidance you desire in the art of sailing. We might anchor for lunch in a bay, and have time to have a dip in the ocean if it is a warm day.

In the afternoon we continue sailing to reach a protected harbour for the night — we always adapt sailing to the weather and participants' requests. Once we have made sure that the anchor sits and we are safe for the night, we take care of the sails and then enjoy a moment's journey of discovery on foot or by dinghy. Then it's time for dinner! In good weather we make a barbecue on a cliff and enjoy the view, otherwise we cuddle in the boat to the kerosene lamp shine and all kind of stories from the seas. It is usually easy to fall asleep after a full day's sailing!

The next day we go up at 8 am — or earlier if you like — to have another full day's sailing. Also on this day we can stop by an anchorage for lunch, or we choose to have a long and quiet morning with walks and baths. It is all up to you to make a choice! We promise to drop you off on the dock where we started at 5pm.

Does this sound cozy to you? If you want to book more than two days, just add another day. The more sailing time, the longer we have time to sail and the more experiences you will bring home with you, easy to carry!

About our boats and skippers

When you sail with Vind o Vatten, you meet committed skippers who own the boats they sail on and who have a close relationship with the Stockholm archipelago. We all hold the Class 8 Ship Commander´s degree and have extensive experience in both archipelago sailing, racing and ocean sailing.

You sail on a well-equipped and comfortable boat with plenty of space in the cockpit and below deck. With their 35-36 feet, our boats are fun and easy to sail without being too lively, and they are more manageable in the archipelago than many other charter boats of larger size. We have wind and waterproof clothing to lend for adult participants, as well as life jackets for adults and children. Sailing our own boats means we know them well!

The food is planned in consultation with your skipper and bought in advance at cost price. You bring your own bed sheet and towel, we have duvets and pillows on board. Each boat can take up to four guests overnight.

Directions

By public transport: Take the commuter train from Stockholm City towards Nynäshamn and get off in Handen. Then take bus 839 towards Dalarö/Smådalarö and get off at the Kanalbron stop. The journey takes about 70 minutes.

After getting off at Kanalbron, go back in the direction from where the bus came. Cross the pedestrian crossing to continue on the other side of the road and then cross again to take the small footpath towards the car park and the little red house where your skipper will meet you. The walk from the bus stop only takes a couple of minutes.

By car: If you use GPS, enter the address Smådalarövägen 1.

Take route 73 from Stockholm, towards Nynäshamn. After about 20 km, exit onto route 227 to Dalarö and continue for 20 km until the road passes over a canal and ends at a T-junction. Turn left and then immediately left again into the parking lot in front of the Maritime Rescue Station. There you will find paid parking spaces. Driving time from Stockholm is approx. 40-45 minutes.
We will meet you at the little red house next to the parking lot.

Around Dalarö Torg (Dalarö Square), 10 minutes walk from the harbour, you will find a supermarket, ATM, restaurants, bakery, deli and souvenire shops.

Please note that some tours may start from Svinninge marina, north of Stockholm.
